Cryptocurrency account security is paramount — once assets are stolen, they're nearly impossible to recover. Binance offers rich security features that, when properly configured, can dramatically reduce risk. Set up security protections right after registering on Binance, and download the Binance APP to manage all security options in the Security Center.
Google Authenticator (2FA)
Google Authenticator is the most fundamental and important security setting. Once enabled, every login, withdrawal, and security settings change requires entering a 6-digit dynamic code from your phone — even if your password is stolen, your account can't be accessed. Setup: go to the security page, find the Google Authenticator option, and scan the QR code with the authenticator app to bind it. Be sure to back up the recovery key during setup — we recommend writing it on paper and storing it in a safe place. If you lose your phone without the backup key, recovering your account will be extremely difficult. You can also use a Passkey or hardware security key as an alternative or additional verification method.
Anti-Phishing Code
An anti-phishing code is a custom text string you set — once configured, all emails sent by Binance will include this code. If an email you receive doesn't contain your anti-phishing code or shows an incorrect one, it's a phishing email. This feature is very effective at helping you distinguish real from fake emails. Setup path: Security Settings, Anti-Phishing Code, then enter your desired text (use a unique phrase). After setting it, make a habit of checking the anti-phishing code every time you receive a Binance email. Choose a code that's easy for you to remember but hard for others to guess — don't use passwords or personal information.
Withdrawal Whitelist and Address Management
The withdrawal whitelist feature, once enabled, only allows withdrawals to pre-added addresses. Newly added addresses have a 24-hour cooling period during which mistakenly added addresses can be removed. We recommend all users with substantial assets enable this feature. Also use the address book to manage frequently used withdrawal addresses — add clear labels to each (e.g., "My Cold Wallet BTC") to avoid manually entering addresses each time, reducing error probability. Periodically clean up whitelist addresses that are no longer in use.
Login Device Management and Notifications
Binance records all devices that log into your account. On the "Device Management" page, you can view all authorized devices — immediately remove any you don't recognize. We recommend checking this list regularly; if you find an unfamiliar device, remove it and change your password right away. Also enable login notifications — each new device login triggers an email or APP push alert. Enable unusual activity notifications for real-time alerts when withdrawals, password changes, and other important operations occur. If you receive a notification for an action you didn't take, immediately use the account freeze function.

A complete security setup should include all of the following: One, set a strong password (12+ characters with uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters). Two, enable Google Authenticator 2FA. Three, set an anti-phishing code. Four, enable the withdrawal whitelist. Five, manage authorized login devices. Six, enable all security notifications. Seven, set up a security phone number and email. Eight, know how to use the account freeze function. Nine, never enter account information on unofficial channels. Ten, change your password regularly. After completing all these settings, your Binance account security reaches the highest level. Security isn't a one-time task — it requires ongoing vigilance.
